The Egyptian and North African Episcopal Churches have held Iftār celebrations to express national unity. After Iftār, Patriarch Dr. Munir Hana, President of the Episcopal Church in Egypt and North Africa delivered a speech in which he focused on the bonds of interdependence which have united the Egyptian ummah throughout time, without religious divisions.  The Grand Muftī of Egypt, Dr. Shūqī 'Alām, attended and also spoke about Egyptian unity (Shādīah Yūsif, al-Ahrām, Aug. 5). Read original text in Arabic.
