The Coptic Orthodox Patriarchate stated that it follows the critical situation that the country is going through. It denounced the consecutive attacks on Egypt’s Copts, their churches, and shops. The Patriarchate made a statement yesterday (August 14) denouncing the attacks on police stations and citizens. The statement also added that it “appeals to our Muslim brothers to confront all these outrageous attempts against places of worship that should not be a part in any conflict” (Ashraf Sādiq, al-Ahrām, Aug. 15).  Read original text in Arabic.
