The International Society for Human Rights in Germany has published a strongly-worded statement in which it accuses the Muslim Brotherhood of burning churches and harassing nuns. The statement defined the Muslim Brotherhood as a terrorist organization.

The report on the Brotherhood said, “What the Muslim Brotherhood does in Egypt is a form of  terrorism against Christians.” It points out that 56 churches were partly or totally destroyed by followers of the Freedom and Justice Party, which is affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood.

Operating Manager of the International Society for Human Rights, Martin Lessenthins, is quoted in the report stating that the Copts in Egypt are scapegoated and an easy prey after the overthrow of the former president, Muhammad Morsi. He calls on the army and police to protect the Copts and to deal with the violent attacks of the Muslim Brotherhood with full force (Sanīyah Mahmūd, al-Shurūq, Aug. 22, p. 2).
