Representatives of the Egyptian Churches have collectively welcomed the balanced and impartial composition of the “Assembly of the Fifty” for drafting a constitution.  Dr. Rev. Safwāt al-Bayādī stated that they want a constitution that is based on consensus. Sūzī Nāshid, the representative of the Orthodox Church in the former Shūrá Council, stated that the composition is good, but she expected the assembly to be more diverse. “Where are the women, the business people, the jurists, etc.?” she asked.
