The three Egyptian Churches have agreed on the distribution of their members in the Constituent Assembly – the primary candidates as well as those on the reserve lists, among the sub-committees of the Constituent Assembly  

Meanwhile, the Coptic organization, the Maspero Youth Union has submitted to the Committee and the Churches’ representatives a proposal to include the Coptic quota in the Constitution. The article shall determine a quota so that a seat from each governorate will be reserved for a Copt. This would lead to a good Coptic representation in Parliament. According to the proposition, the number of seats dedicated to Copts should be decreased by 50% by the second legislative period and by another 25% by the third period. It is to be removed entirely for the fourth legislative period under the new Constitution (Magdī Fikrī and Mamdūh Shahātih, al-Dustūr, Sept.11, p. 4). This article has no link online.
