Security forces have intensified their efforts to arrest the assailants on al-Warrāq Church. About 30 officers from the national and central security investigations units have listened to 120 testimonies from witnesses. The security team continued to search for the assailants in the Corniche area surrounding the areas of al-Warrāq and Imbābah. 

In other news, the Maspero Youth Union and other Coptic movements have decided to cancel the protest that was to be held today in front of the Council of Ministers building to denounce the terrorist attack. They did so to prevent the members of the Muslim Brotherhood from participating in the protest. The Coptic Orthodox Church has also announced its rejection of the Coptic demonstrations that demand the dismissal of the Minister of Interior, Gen. Muhammad Ibrahīm (Mahmūd al-Garhy, Mustafá Rahūmah, ‘Amr Hamīd and Gihān Abd al-‘Azīz, al-Watan, Oct. 23, p. 3). Read original text in Arabic.
