The Coptic Orthodox Church commemorated yesterday (November 17) the first anniversary of Pope Tawadros’ Papacy. A holy mass was held inside the St. Mark’s Cathedral.  Bishop Seraphim al-Siryānī, the Vice Bishop to the Mahalah Diocese, also has been installed as bishop of the diocese.

In addition, yesterday the Holy Synod committees have started their semi-annual meetings that will continue for a few days.

Pope Tawadros II has inaugurated the exhibition of the “Coptic Book” in the Cathedral.  The Church has allowed for the first time in its history to sell the books of Father Matta al-Miskīn (Mustafa Rahūma, al-Watan, Nov. 18, p. 2). Read original text in Arabic.
