In a meeting that took almost 4 hours, the Holy Synod of the Coptic Orthodox Church headed by Pope Tawadros approved the new regulations for the selections of bishops and deferred the approval of the list of regulations for the selection of the Pope. The Synod also refused to use of the word “quota” and approved of the “principle of positive discrimination” instead.
