Mary Mīlād, the head of the Right Party, stated that this stage is a milestone in the history of Egypt, because we went out of two large revolutions and are preparing to vote on the Constitution of Egypt. This is the first practical step in the “Road Map”.  She said that there is a big difference between quotas and positive discrimination where the quota is the term that was used in international human rights documents signed by Egypt to guarantee women’s political rights to participate in Parliament by at least 30%.  She said this is different from  positive discrimination, which is resorted to by some countries when they cannot achieve equality among all segments of society, as is happening in Egypt.
