A number of Nūr Party leaders have denounced that the Church has interfered in the so-called “identity articles” pertaining to sharī’ah in the Constitution. They requested that the Church stop intervening in Muslims’ affairs. Dr. Ahmad Rashwān, the member of the high board of the Nūr Party, stated that the threat by the Church to withdraw from the Constituent Assembly due to the inclusion of the interpretation of the sharī’ah in the Constitution is a dangerous matter.
