Dr. Safwat al-Bayādī, head of the Evangelical Church in Egypt, said on Saturday, Feb. 2, that Jum'ah was consulted on a number of fatwás. Bayādī also mentioned that the signing of the Azhar document represents the first attempt to calm the situation in Egypt. Until today there have not been any serious attempts to initiate a dialogue with the people on the street.
