Pope Tawadros led the third morning mass for his deceased mother, Samiah Nassīm, in St. Mark’s Church in Alexandria.  His mother passed away Friday morning, March 28, at the age of 83. Soon after the mass, the Pope returned to the headquarters in St Mark’s Cathedral in Abbāssiyah, Cairo. He will receive today condolences from state officials in the Cathedral. Interim president Adly Mansūr has delegated the governor of Alexandria, general Tāriq Mahdī, to attend the mass. Metropolitan Bishoy, Bishop of Kafr el-Sheikh and Damietta, announced three day of mourning in the monastery of St. Dimyanah in Bilqās, where the body is buried.
