Counselor Muhammad Abd al- Salām, legal advisor to the Azhar Shaykh, stated that the Bayt al- Zakāh, which was approved by President al-Sīsī is a credible institution which Egyptians can give their zakāh (alms) to. The institution will distribute alms (zakāh) to poor citizens. He added that the Bayt al- Zakāh will be an independent institution under the auspices of the Azhar.
