George Dūf, the officer-in-charge of the coalition of Egypt’s Copts in Minya, stated that the coalition welcomes the results of the referendum with a turnout of 38.6% and 98.1% voting yes. He stated that this result is the highest yes vote for an Egyptian constitution in Egypt’s history. George William the coordinator of the coalition in Minya stated that the coalition of Copts will start requesting the amendment of the constitutional articles in order to make it confirm with the civil (secular) state and its ‘original’ identity.
