The New York Times is reporting that the U.S. Government is resuming its military aid to Egypt in an attempt to end tensions with its long time ally. The resumption in aid will no longer allow the Egyptian government to purchase military equipment through credit financing, although it will still allow the Egyptian military to purchase planes, rockets, and tanks. President Obama reportedly expressed to his Egyptian counterpart, President Sīsī, his concern over the arresting of peaceful protesters and the mass trials of political opposition members.
