2. Pardoned prisoners’ fate in hands of Interior Ministry: Lawyers

Salwa Mehrez, one of the 100 prisoners pardoned on Wednesday who had been detained in the Itihadiya Palace protests case, had been freed Saturday Sept 26, after her release had been delayed by prison authorities. The article provides also other names. Ragia Omran from the National Council for Human Rights (NCHR) explained that the reason behind the delay in implementing the pardon in these cases comes from “a bureaucratic evaluation of their legal status”. Ragia Omran was explicit of her criticism of concerned authorities.

C. Hulsman: There is no indication in the article that the DNE had asked the Ministry of Interior for a response.
