Al-Azhar stated that Arab and Islamic nations must reconsider their dependance on the West, and that the Palestinian people must know that the West, with all its military capabilities and weapons of destruction, is weak and afraid when it comes to confrontation because it kills on land that is not its own, and defends mentalities and ideologies that are outdated. It also said that the West must be confronted by holding fast to God and his Prophet Muḥammed, may peace and blessings be upon him, in the face of its barbaric attacks.
