The interview took place in Dr. Muḥammad Ṣalāḥ's office in the Media Production City, 6th of October City. He explains what the term "Islamists" means to him, gives thoughts about the current development of salafism in Egypt, the political engagement of Salafīs and why the political and religious sphere can't be separated. This interview was part of an Arab-West Report project for a book on Islamist movements during the year 2013. Data collected were placed online in June 2016. The interview was recorded and transcribed by Quinta Smit. Dr. Ṣalāḥ has seen and approved this transcript.
