The Faculty of Comparative Religion at the University of Manouba, Tunis, Tunisia, invited Cornelis Hulsman to present his work in Egypt to students on the 9th of February, 2018. Hulsman’s lecture covered the following subjects:
- Introduction of Dutch sociologist Cornelis Hulsman, Drs., director of the Center for Intercultural Dialogue and Translation in Egypt. Key elements in his work are the formation of an electronic Middle East Studies database, and working with student interns from all over the world.
- Contextual research is needed to balance biased media reporting, especially on issue related to religion and culture in the Middle East
- A case study in context sensitive reporting from Egypt
- A brief alternative history of the development of Christianity and Islam
- Could a sister database with data from Tunisia and student internship program be established in Tunisia?
