Since the outbreak of violence in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, hundreds of Christian Arabs have left their homes with the help of foreign embassies. Foreign embassies will not say how many Christian Arabs they have aided. An Israeli Foreign Ministry official said that about two-thirds of the dual-nationals who have left are Christians, and about a third are Muslims. The Jerusalem Latin Patriarch insists that reports of hundreds of Christian Arab families fleeing Palestinian areas are untrue.
