The surprise of these elections was the failing of two great symbols of the Brotherhood, namely, Al-Hodeibi, the deputy of the general counselor of the Brothers, and Seif Al-Islam Al-Banna, a member in the Counseling Office of the Brotherhood while 15 other candidates succeeded in the first and second rounds. The Counseling Office had been quite sure that Al-Hodeibi was going to win in the third stage of the election, to lead the bloc of the Brotherhood in Parliament because the success of Al-Banna was regarded as improbable.
