The Russian Orthodox Church is now subjected to a smear campaign by Western media, because of its attitude to the missionaries, being sent there. The number of missionaries worries the Orthodox Church and the Kremlin. This led the Duma to declare there were only three religions in Russia, Orthodoxy, Islam and Buddhism. It banned other religious missionaries considering they would violate national unity.
