A deposed priest says that there is no text in either the law or the Coptic Orthodox canon that forbids a second marriage. He filed a case against the Pope to stop him executing deposition order. He had performed some wedding ceremonies for divorced couples without getting a marriage permit from the Cathedral. The pope presented documents to prove that the court was not authorized to make any decisions.
