The author tries to reinterpret the September 11 attacks in the light of a play by Edward Albee entitled “The Zoo Story.” The play tackles the theme of lack of communication. The two main characters in the play came together through a knife. The crash of the suicide planes into the twin towers of the World Trade Center is like the coming together of the two men in Albee´s play. It was an attempt of communication between two civilizations whose dialogue had deteriorated to the extent that there was no common language. The plans of September 11 are like Albee´s knife. The perpetrators of the attacks represented the Arab civilization and the twin towers represented the American civilization. Full Text
