The Egyptian weekly Akher Saa published a number of articles with the title: “They sow hatred, malice and war.” [AWR, 2003, week 4, art. 26; week 6, art. 33; week 7, art. 37] The ‘they´ in the title refers to Israelis and Jews. Akher Saa lifts out negative statements on Arabs and Islam from Israeli and Jewish publications and present them to their readers who cannot but conclude that Israelis and Jews are targeting Arabs and Islam in their faith and Palestinians in their existence. That fits a pattern of increasingly [it has not always been like this] negative articles about Israel, Jews, the US and at times Christians. The articles resulted in a correspondence between Dr. Larry Levine, an Orthodox Jew from New York, and Cornelis Hulsman. Levine believes that a clash between Jews and Muslims is practically unavoidable with the all the consequences this has for more bloodshed. Hulsman disagrees and finds his opinion dangerous.
