On the 20^th of February this year, 66 prominent Muslim personalities from many Muslim countries issued a strong-worded statement against the American presence in Iraq. They announced their support of the national Islamic Iraqi resistance against the American occupation of Iraq. They did not issue any statement to condemn the beheading of hostages in Iraq, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan or to declare Islam innocent of these actions.
