The rules of war in Islam involves all kinds of violations if they were evaluated by the ethics of today. These rules allowed the killing of hostages, taking possession of money and properties by force and abducting women, taking them as slaves and raping them. All these things were lawful under our ethical rules of war at a time that has its own war techniques that fits a tribal, Beduin environment. Thus, our rules of war require a review after the many slaughters of captives in Iraq under the banner of Islam and the cry of ‘Allah Akbar” [God is the Greatest].
