The office of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) in Houston, Texas, held a press conference at which it called on political and religious leaders in the state to speak out against the recent waves of hatred against Muslims.


The conference came after a series of recent attacks against Muslims in Texas.


CAIR had voiced concern early this month about what it said were mounting attacks against Muslims and their property in America in recent weeks. CAIR called on the FBI to step in to probe these incidents.
