“All judges will not live for long, while the condemned, Khaled, is eternal.” With these words Abdel Rahman Al-Abnudy [a famous Egyptian poet] said goodbye to Khaled Al-Islambuli, Sadat’s assassin. Khaled Al-Islambuli appeared for the first time on 23 September 1981, when the leader of his unit told him that he was chosen to participate in the military parade on 6th October, in the celebration of October victory. Khaled tried to excuse himself, but he couldn’t.
