Now Benedicta Ward SLG and Rowan Williams, Archbishop of Canterbury, have joined (or, better, rejoined) the caravan out to the desert--not, fortunately, as tourists but as seekers and translators. Dr. Rowan Williams’ Silence and Honey Cakes illustrates the wisdom Coptic monastic life. Sister Benedicta recently published the book titled “The Desert Fathers: Sayings of the Early Christian Monks”, "the earliest surviving source for contact with the monastic world of Egypt."
