It turned out that Irineos has given legal authority to the fugitive financial agent Nikos Papadimas, who used to run the patriarchy’s real estate affairs. The Interpol and Greek authorities have launched a wide-scale campaign in search of Papadimas, who is wanted on charges of embezzling 700,000 dollars from the Church funds.
