Conducting research about Mosque building is an important project. However, finding the right and trusted sources is not an easy task. As researchers at AWR, we are keen to gain trusted information, which is why we looked to the Ministry of Endowments to meet with specialized persons. The Ministry is the most important presence in the process of mosque construction, as all construction projects require its permission. It oversees these projects and is legally affiliated with the mosques. (AWR, interview with Ahmad al-Sayih). We intended to have a meeting with Sheikh Sawky Abd El Lateef, the First Undersecretary of the Ministry of Awqaf for Dawaa Affairs, and Head of the religious sector. However, he referred us to Fouad Abdel Azeem Muhammad, the Deputy of the Ministry for Mosque affaires and the Holy Quran. Sheikh Fouad didn't seem at ease with this situation, and was probably not prepared for the interview.
