Many international bodies and institutions have commented on the attacks of Naj‘ Hammādī. US Congress members have sent President Mubārak a message urging him to take prompt action over the crime. Some observers considered the Congress message and other organizations’ calls to be rejected as foreign interference in Egypt’s affairs, and, hence, blamed the Egyptian media for not being able to communicate the security apparatus’ prompt and effective reaction to the West. Many observers, including Bishop Kyrillos of Naj‘ Hammādī, criticized the Coptic expatriate activists who are accused of working for a foreign agenda against the welfare of Egypt.
