‘Abd al-‘Alīm says that he belongs to a generation that has never witnessed fitnah tā’ifīyah, a generation raised on equality and national unity. He calls for the return of a civil state and democracy and says they could only be achieved through hard work from all members of the public, as well as from all branches of government, not only the security apparatus.
