The International Religious Freedom report issued by the United States Department of State praised the Egyptian government’s methods of fighting fitnah tā’ifīyah. President Muhammad Husnī Mubārak was praised for announcing that those who cause fitnah and religious discrimination are not welcome in Egypt. The Egyptian Minister of Endowments was praised for arranging trips to various governorates around Egypt in a campaign for religious awareness and combating violence and religious discrimination.
