Bishop Yūhannā Qultah says that throughout history, there has always been good and evil, progress and backwardness. He gives the example of Akhenaten, who was killed at age 24 for coming up with the idea of a single creator. Despite his death, he says, Akhenaten's philosophy lived on and was adopted by many Greek philosophers, such as Plato and Aristotle.

Qultah then discusses Hammurabi and how Greek philosophy outlived the Roman Empire. After that, he moves on to the Islamic Empire and how it spawned groups like the Qarmatians, who ravaged the land and spread hatred.

He says that the currently dominant Western Civilization has borrowed from all its predecessors, and that it is also flawed with everything from atheism to religious extremism.
