Hānī Labīb comments about a question that was asked by Al-Dustūr to Coptic intellectual Rafīq Habīb.

The question dealt with why Muslims do not have a pope that inspires them religiously and serves as a politcal leader. Dr. Habīb replied that, unlike Coptic priests, Islamic scholars fall under the state's custody.

Labīb commented that when Bishop Bīshūy criticized the validity of certain verses in the Qur’ān it triggered a new religious rivalry, and the average citizen suffered from what was said. Meanwhile, Bishop Bīshūy is sitting in his monk's cell isolated from all the chaos in the Egyptian streets.
