AWR latest news (edited by D.Mueller-Ehrhard,IT-consultant,Germany)
Sat. Feb. 12th:
By now we have found a way to reorganize work with the office still closed by people working mainly from home and abroad from The Netherlands, the U.S., Turkey and Germany. After positive developments in Egypt we hope staff will soon be able to return and office will function normal until end of February
Sat. Feb. 5th:
Chief Editor Kees Hulsman just mailed, that he and the delegation have returned safely to Holland last night. They are in frequent telephone contact with friends in Egypt.
Thu. Feb. 3rd:
Due to the unrest in Cairo the AWR office was closed for a week now and staff could not access the internet to upload articles. Aside from that major newspapers were also not available.
Since yesterday the internet has partly been working again.
We are happy to hear now by mail that
- Chief Editor Kees Hulsman and the Durch delegaton are safe in a Egyptian Catholic institution near the airport, waiting to fly home tomorrow. We warmly thank this institution for their strong support.
- Editors and staff Hany Labib, Jayson Casper, William Gallo, Nevine Naguib and Hosam Dergham are all safe and eager to return to office a.s.a.p.
Still though it will probably take about a week until we have reorganized the office and can start working in the normal fashion again.
We are truly approaching interesting / challenging times and thus we are eager to supply our readers with the latest on news and developments from the Egyptian press.
