Thousands of Copts held a funerary march April 4 at the Coptic Orthodox Cathedral in al-‘Abbāssīyah commemorating the death of the Coptic Orthodox Pope Shenouda III.
While hanging a poster of Pope Shenouda by a number of youth in the Cathedral, a flock of doves flew which amazed the people who started cheering and applauding. During the commemoration, the scouts made an artistic show that related the life story of Pope Shenouda as well as hymns. The choir also read one of the poetry that Pope Shenouda wrote in 1948 and presented some of his pictures with prominent figures like the Grand Shaykh of the Azhar.
