The village of al-Jamhūd in the Upper Egyptian governorate of al-Minyā has seen a tense day after a Coptic young man converted to Islam. Several local residents said 32-year-old Ayman Yūsuf ‘Ayyād’s family forced him into the house of his mother’s family and tried to bring him to reverse his decision but failed.
