The Free Egyptians Party (FEP) expressed “profound concerns” over a certain group’s monopolization of all authorities and consequently turning Egypt into a theocracy ruled by religious leaders.

The liberal party also warned of attempts to “militarize Egyptian politics and re-produce the former regime with all its repressive and police practices,” appealing to all Egyptian civil political parties and powers to be “vigilant towards a conspiracy being concocted against Egypt’s next constitution”.
