The FJP has come out of the womb of the Muslim Brotherhood group and emerged in the limelight after the glorious January 25 Revolution in a democratic attire, something that is confirmed by the statements of the party leader and senior members, writes William Sam'ān in an opinion article in al-Ahrām, p. 12.
Perhaps the Muslim Brotherhood members have believed that democracy is the right way for a sound political practice.
There is only one thing that could stand in the citizens' way to believe all the words of democracy and freedom by the group – that is the logo that depicts two swords with the word "Prepare" between them.
Prepare is the first word in the Qur'ānic verse that reads, "And prepare against them whatever you are able of power and of steeds of war by which you may terrify the enemy of Allah and your enemy and others besides them whom you do not know [but] whom Allah knows. And whatever you spend in the cause of Allah will be fully repaid to you, and you will not be wronged." [Sura al-Anfāl (Spoils of War) 8:60]
Now the question that should impose itself is that who are the Brotherhood getting "prepared" for? Is it the liberals, the salafists, Copts or leftists, wonders the author. [William Sam'ān, al-Ahrām, Jan. 17, p. 12]
