A well-informed Coptic source said the representation of Copts in the new government being formed will not be changed, adding there are only two Coptic ministers in the new cabinet lineup, Munīr Fakhrī 'Abd al-Nūr, the minister of tourism, and Nādyāh Zakhārī, the minister of scientific research.
Coptic activist Mamdūh Ramzī termed as "political buffoonery" the current consultations to form a new government, refusing it and its head altogether.
He said that Prime Minister-designate Hishām Qandīl lacks any experience to head the government.
"The head of state is more inclined to his group although he is president of all Egyptians. What does it mean the Muslim Brotherhood members grab the majority of ministerial portfolios?" wondered Ramzī, calling on Copts likely to be ministers in this "new sectarian government" to withdraw.
