Ramsīs al-Najār, legal consultant for the Coptic Orthodox Church, denied that the papal elections will be postponed because of the lawsuit against it.

Eng. Mājid Mikhā'īl (newspaper did not mention his position but media reports quoted him as a church chaperon) had filed a lawsuit against the church calling for discontinuing the papal elections and allowing all Copts to vote not only specific segments.
