The Egyptian Radio Sawa was able to telephone the producer of the film, "Innocence of Muslims," which discredits the Prophet Muhammad. The reporter of Radio Sawa made two telephone interviews with an Egyptian man who said he is the owner of the film but refused to say his name. However, a close source -who provided that number to Radio Sawa- assured that the name of the man that Radio Sawa telephones was Nicola Bacile (other Egyptian and media reports said that the film producer name was Sam Bacile not Nicola Bacile such as Time and al-Ahrām).

In the telephone interview Bacile said that he does not regret producing the film, but he feels sad for the death of the U.S. Ambassador in Libya, saying that it does not have to do with the film and that people who attacked both U.S. Embassies in Libya and Egypt are barbarians. He added that the U.S. has nothing to do with the film and it is unfair to accuse a country of something that an individual did. What he did, he added, was based on his own personal views and based on much research in Islamic books.
