The Muslim Brotherhood (MB) reiterated condemnation of "attempts to provoke the group's youths" in al-Tahrīr Square during celebrations marking the January 25, 2011 revolution's first anniversary.

"Everyone knows that the group's youths are capable of deterring those persons who went too far and replying to slanders and insults. The whole world has seen those and recognized for which parties they are working," said Deputy Murshid (Guide) of the Muslim Brotherhood, Dr. Rashād al-Bayyūmī, in a message he sent to the group's youths.

He added that history will never disregard the fact that "the youths of the Muslim Brotherhood were the heroes of the (1948) Palestine war and that they have given the Zionist enemies a lesson they will never forget."

"When the Brotherhood learnt about the schemes of the former regime to stifle the January revolution, the youths of the MB were like soldiers in the Battle of the Camel and this is a fact attested to by the same persons who are now defaming the group," said Bayyūmī.
