The Coptic Orthodox Church celebrated yesterday (June 1) the memory of the journey of the Holy Family to Egypt. The Church held the service at Abū Sirjah Church in  in Old Cairo. The ceremony was attended by several political figures, including ‘Amr Mūsá, leader of the Conference party, as well as members of the Armed Forces, representing Colonel General ‘Abd al-Fattāh al-Sīsī, Minister of Defense. However, the President did not attend himself, nor did he send a representative. There were various parts to the ceremony, including a choir, a re-enactment of the Holy Family’s flight to Egypt, a film about the Holy family, and a cave which the Holy Family stayed in for a few days (‘Imād Khalīl, al-Misrī al-Yawm, Jun. 2, p. 3).
