Security sources said that Hānā Samīr Kāmil, 37, was shot in the Masā’īd district of al-‘Arīsh yesterday afternoon (Sept. 1). The culprits, who are likely affiliated with jihadi groups, fled in a car. Passers-by took Kāmil to the al-‘Arīsh General Hospital, but he died as soon as they reached the hospital. The police swept the area in attempt to catch the terrorists, but to no avail. A security source confirmed that an explosion was heard near the border that took place on Israeli land in front of border marker number 15, which is near Karm Abū Sālim and was far away from the Egyptian-Israeli border (Ahmad Abū Dirā’, al-Masrī al-Yawm, Sept. 2, p. 5). Read original text in Arabic.
