The International Federation for Sufi Orders has announced its support for the new constitution. It called upon Egyptians to cast a “yes” vote in the referendum. Shaykh ‘Alāa’ al-Dīn Mādī Abū al-‘Azāyim, the head of the ‘Azmiyah Tarīqah said that rejecting the Constitution is the first step for the Muslim Brotherhood to get back into power again. He also expressed his support and that of the Sufi orders’ Shaykhs for the nomination of Gen. ‘Abd al-Fattāh al-Sīsī for presidency (Hussām ‘Abd al- ‘Alīm, al-Akhbār, Dec. 6, p. 10).
