Grand Muftī Doctor Shawqī ‘Allām will participate today in the ‘Forum for Promoting Peace in Muslim Societies’ that is being held in Abu Dhabi, a conference involving Muslim thinkers and intellectuals from around the world. Doctor ‘Allām emphasized the necessity of spreading a culture of peace in society given the divisions and violence that currently afflict the Islamic world, adding that “Peace is considered the most important goal in Islamic law, as it can help to guarantee all other rights” (Sanā’ Hashīsh, al-Wafd, Mar. 8, p. 16).
